Let’s be real about yoga teaching opportunities

On a bus journey home from a visit to the Tate Modern with 3 other mamas and 5 kiddos under the age of 3 I had this realisation that I wanted to share.

As a yoga teacher, I get it, we all want to be teaching at the yoga studios and trying to get the good time slots. As I am based in the UK, I am going to relate what I am going to share to the UK. Do you know how many yoga studios there are in the UK that are actual registered yoga studios rather than spaces in gyms or other places holding yoga classes? According to my google search, it is approximately 4700 yoga studios in 2023. With that in mind, I then googled to see how many businesses there are in the UK… approximately 5.6 million.

With both of these figures in mind, that works out at 1 yoga studio per 1120 businesses. Let’s take a moment to look at that. For every yoga studio, there are 1120 businesses that you can be reaching out to for corporate yoga classes. There are so many opportunities to diversify and be teaching. Whilst thinking about this way of looking at the possibility to get more classes and opportunities, I had another thought. Some of the people you would be teaching in a corporate setting may not even go to a yoga studio so it’s a different audience who would really appreciate and value your teachings. For example, parents would go to the daytime class at the office because it won’t impact their schedule for home life. They can still manage to do the home logistics whilst getting in their class in the work day. There will be some who wouldn’t want to pay for a studio but will benefit for the calmness.

If you want some inspiration on what corporate classes you could offer then download this free pdf here.

Or if you want a bit more support to get your first corporate class then check out my mini course and pdf here.

Remember there are so many opportunities for teaching yoga than just in yoga studios. :)
